Date/Time: January 26th, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Location: FSU Campus
Topic/Skill: Gerunds and Infinitives
Feedback provided to tutee: The tutee, since our last session, had become confused on when to use gerunds and when to use infinitives. Luckily, we just went over this in class ourselves. I gave them a full lesson, explaining the general rules of when to use which with examples. I then had the tutee try to write his own examples and corrected those as needed.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Carrying around my own notes was extremely helpful. I had brought them to the session by complete accident, but I think that going forward I will bring them with me intentionally. Even if I know what i am talking about, the lesson is a lot more concise and clear if I can read off of my own notes that are explicitly about grammar, and not just my outline for the lesson.
